Convicted Diva

(December 9, 2011)
I kinda love stripes..just a little bit. I bought this striped skirt last summer. The left is how I wore it for a party last Fall.
The right is how I wore it recently. It's ironic that I wore it over a year later with those same blue tights..and a black jacket. I shouldn't be surprised, though. I tend to repeat outfits, not necessarily articles of clothing. I was NOT thinking about that outfit when I got dressed this time, however.

Just another Oxford day

(November 14, 2011)
I don't have much to say about this look..honestly, I just threw it on and went to class. However, I did like it very much. So, here are some pics. Enjoy.
Ghana all day!

Gettin Schooled

(November, 13, 2011)
I have an announcement..I'm a tailor! Well..not really, but, I felt like one last week. I had this pleated skirt, a very nice skirt, but there was just too much of it. The length wasn't bad, but the high-waist of the skirt PLUS the length just threw my proportions off. Soooo, I decided to hem it..and succeeded; blind hem, starched and pressed. The whole shebang!! So yes, I was feeling myself. It looked so professional.
I took it up 4 inches. Previously, it was at the middle of my knee caps. I used a measuring tape and white chalk to mark the new hem, then pinned and ironed it down. This article was a huge help when it came to actually sewing it down. Since the original stitching was hidden, I wanted to have the same finish with the new hem. After ALL that..I ironed and starched each individual pleat..painstaking, but SO worth it. I felt very accomplished.

White After Labor Day ^_^

(October 21, 2011)
Shout-out to mirror pics!
This post is almost a week overdue. On Friday, I took my sister on our first trip to Plato's Closet. I ended up spending money I wasn't prepared to spend (life story of a shopaholic..but I'm in recovery ;] lol). Anyhow, my best friend met up with us; we had a ball.

It's a Man's World . .

(October 16, 2011)
Not really, but it's an appropriate title. I have ventured into the world of menswear inspired looks, thanks to the lovely Stephanie at Chocolate Laced. Ever since I saw her look for the 21 Day Challenge, I decided it was time for my wardrobe to experience a man-over.
